About
*Kit Ingram (he/him) is a queer poet and writer based in South London. His work – exploring themes of identity, love, violence, and liberation – has been widely anthologised and appeared in magazines such as Ambit, Magma, Acumen, Poetry Ireland Review, and The North. Recent poetry of Kit’s has been commended in the Ambit Annual Competition, shortlisted for the Out-Spoken Prize, and twice longlisted in the National Poetry Competition.
In 2022, he published Alice and Antius, an illustrated narrative poem with Penrose Press. Booklife by Publishers Weekly described the work as a ‘moving, gorgeous novel in verse [that] imagines the lives and minds of lovers facing a world ravaged by climate change.’ His debut UK poetry collection, Aqueous Red, is forthcoming from Broken Sleep Books on 31st October 2023.
Raised in Calgary, Canada, on the windswept foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Kit went on to graduate from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in philosophy. He is now pursuing an MA in Creative Writing at Royal Holloway under the direction of Lavinia Greenlaw.
When not considering line breaks or the lives of his characters, Kit might be playing with his golden retriever or hurrying through the streets of the capital like ‘an unstoppable cappuccino.’
